PATIENT SERVICES

The Altoona Arthritis & Osteoporosis Center (AAOC) provides a complete spectrum of medical testing at our facility. Our imaging department offers MRI, digital X-Ray, and DXA Osteoporosis services. We also have a state-certified, Medicare-approved laboratory, and an infusion suite. With same-day imaging and lab services (which are open to the public), convenient parking, a pleasant atmosphere, and friendly staff, AAOC is committed to providing central Pennsylvania with quality care.

— By providing the following advanced services on-site, we are able to offer our patients timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment —

MRI

Our on-site Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) allows patients a more in-depth imaging option right here in our office. We are an American College of Radiology accredited imaging facility.

INFUSION SUITE

Our office has an on-site infusion suite where we are able to administer intravenous (IV) medications to patients. This allows for more central care for patients so that they can see their doctor and get their infusion all at the same site.

DIGITAL X-RAY

All patients have access to same-day X-Ray imaging with our on-site imaging department. For many rheumatic conditions, X-rays allow physicians to see the potential extent of the wear and tear that their condition may have caused and to help physicians provide the best diagnosis and treatment options to the patient.

DXA Osteoporosis Scan

DXA.jpg

Dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) looks at the potential bone loss of a patient. For patients who are suffering from osteoporosis, a condition that causes a thinning of the bones where bone loss is greater than bone development, this must be carefully monitored to avoid fractures and breaks that are incredibly painful. With the benefit of our on-site DXA machine patients dealing with osteoporosis are able to more conveniently have this monitored.

LABORATORY

Our on-site laboratory is state and Medicare-certified. Many of the tests that determine rheumatic conditions and assist the providers in determining diagnosis are done the same day as your appointment.
