Current Positions Available:

Medical Assistant

Daily job duties: Rooming patients/obtaining vital signs. Patient care responsibilities as assigned and phlebotomy duties. Documenting in EMR. Provide basic patient care as ordered by physician and assist physician with various procedures. Answer telephones promptly and direct calls to appropriate staff. Clean and stock exam rooms. Front office duties. The individual considered for this position must have a cooperative attitude toward co-employees, management, patients, visitors and physicians. They must have the ability to promote a favorable facility image with physicians, patients, hospitals, other physician offices and to the general public.

Requirements: Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate. CMA, CST preferred, or equivalent experience, current state license or national certification preferred. Successful completion of Medical Assistant program preferred or equivalent hospital program or minimum of one year of direct patient care experience.

Licensed Practical Nurse

The Altoona Arthritis & Osteoporosis Center is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse. Under supervision of the Office Manager and in collaboration with other team members, provides direct and indirect patient care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, professional standards of care, state regulations and accreditation standards. The qualified candidate would hold a current nursing license in the state of Pennsylvania, have worked directly with patients to triage questions and concerns to address them with providers in a timely manner, and must be team oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job duties: · Interviews patients about current problems, medications, and allergies and reviews medical record for pertinent previous and current information. · Performs variety of office responsibilities: answer phones and take messages and perform triage within scope of licensed practical nursing practice in an accurate and timely manner. · Facilitates and assists in the coordination of patient referrals. · Communicate with patients about the doctor’s orders or test results via mail or phone call. · Help patients understand documentation or paperwork. · Talk to patients about their treatment plan, tests, and diagnoses. · Send prescriptions to pharmacies. · Other job duties as assigned.
