ABOUT OUR STAFF

The Physicians at AAOC have a combined 35 years experience in the field of Rheumatology and have participated in over 300 clinical research studies.

This experienced team of doctors, headed by Dr. Alan Kivitz, is complemented by a growing staff of professionals dedicated to meet the needs of our patients.

AAOC understands the fear and anxiety that often accompany the pain of a rheumatic disease. You will find the staff truly enjoys helping patients achieve a higher quality of living through treatment. Sharon K. Ritchey, CRNP
Sharon Ritchey attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana, Pa where she received her MS degree in 1991.  She completed her Post-Master's Certification in 1997 at the University of Missouri, Columbia, MO and her Certification program at Saint Francis College, Loretto, Pa in 1999. Sharon worked at the Altoona Hospital and Hollidaysburg Area School District before joining Altoona Center for Clinical Research.  In addition, Sharon serves as Director of Youth Ministries at Hick's Memorial United Methodist Church.

Angela Zumer Braatz, PA-C
Angie Zumer Braatz attended Saint Francis University, Loretto, Pennsylvania where she received her Masters/Physician Assistant degree in May, 2003.  Angie served as Physician Assistant at SCI Laurel Highlands before joining the Altoona Center for Clinical Research in June 2003.

Marissa Dudeck, PA-C
Marissa Dudeck attended Saint Francis University, Loretto, Pennsylvania where she received her Masters/Physician Assistant degree in May 2001.  Marissa worked at Conemaugh Medwell as a Physician Assistant until January 2002, at which time she joined Altoona Center for Clinical Research.

Deb Rentz:
Deb Rentz graduated Saint Francis University Physician Assistant program in Loretto, Pa. She practiced two years in General Surgery and another two years in Family Practice before joining Altoona Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center in 1999.

Michael Zumer
Michael Joseph Zumer has been at Altoona Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center since graduating from Saint Francis University in 2001. At Saint Francis University, he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences and a Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Sciences. At AAOP/ACCR Mike evaluates and treats many patient's in our private rheumatology practice as well as being a primary assesor for many of our ongoing clinical research trails. He is currently certified as the 'primary' joint count assesor in all of our ongoing rheumatoid arthritis trials.
